IO FiX TRIO – Calcaneal Osteotomy Plate

Overview

The IO FiX TRIO is a calcaneal osteotomy plate from Extremity Medical for medial or lateral translation of the calcaneus. The plate is placed on the lateral calcaneal wall and its surface acts as the guide for the osteotomy cut. It is fixed with three IO FiX screws: a Ø5.0 mm tapered anchor screw through the posterior hole, then two compression screws across the osteotomy (Ø5.0 mm tapered screws, which lock into the plate by Morse taper, or polyaxial screws). The plate comes in 6+ and 10+ sizes, for displacements of 6 mm or more and 10 mm or more.

The technique’s specification table gives a length of 14.5 mm, a cutting-surface width of 20 mm, a posterior width of 14.8 mm, a posterior thickness of 2.25 mm and a compression screw angle of 60°.
