HammerFiX – IP Fusion System

HammerFiX is a cannulated PEEK (polyetheretherketone) implant for interphalangeal fusion of the lesser toes. Opposing screw and barbed segments generate compression across the joint. The implant is available in three sizes, and the cannulation allows the corrected phalanx to be pinned temporarily across the metatarsophalangeal joint with a guidewire.

Each implant size has its own sterile-packed instrument kit, and implant and kit are also available together as a set.

Features

• Made of PEEK (polyetheretherketone), a non-resorbable polymer whose stiffness is close to that of cortical bone, to limit the risk of implant cut-out
• Radiolucent, so the fusion site can be seen clearly on imaging
• Opposing threads (screw and barbed segments) generate compression across the joint
• Cannulated for accurate placement, allowing the corrected phalanx to be pinned temporarily across the MPJ with a guidewire
• Available in three sizes to accommodate variation in lesser toe size
