IBS-B MIS is a system of cannulated titanium screws with a 45° bevelled head, designed to sit flush with the cortex when inserted at an angle, as in minimally invasive bunion and Akin osteotomies. Compression and fully threaded screws are available in 3.3, 4.0 and 6.5 mm, with a 6.5 mm Compression PLUS version.

Indications
Fixation of arthrodesis, osteotomies or fractures of long or short bones of the upper and lower limbs, appropriate for the size of the device.
Applications include bunion correction, Lapidus, Akin and MTP fusions; midfoot arthrodesis and osteotomy fixation; and calcaneal osteotomy fixation and subtalar fusion.
Contraindications
Current or past systemic, acute or chronic inflammation; active infection; sensitivity or allergy to the implant materials.

How it works
Compression screws generate compression through different thread pitches at the leading and trailing ends; fully threaded screws hold position without compression.
The head has self-drilling, self-tapping cutting flutes so it countersinks as it is inserted, and inter-thread notches to reduce stress between the head and the cortex in the final turns. Laser lines on the bevelled screwdrivers show the orientation of the bevel, so the head can be seated flush with the bone.
Instrument sets
- Forefoot set for 3.3 and 4.0 mm screws, and hindfoot set for 6.5 mm screws, each reusable with a cover.
- Each set: screwdriver handle, bevelled and non-bevelled drivers, K-wire guide, drill guide, soft-tissue protector, measurer, countersinks, drills and K-wires.
- Compatible with NeoMIS® single-use instruments and percutaneous burrs (sold separately).
Sizes and ordering
3.3 and 4.0 mm screw codes and the forefoot/midfoot instruments are from the IBS-B MIS surgical technique (Rev B, 03/2026), which replaces the S33 and S40 codes in CONMED's CE-market catalogue (2025); the 6.5 mm screws and the other instruments are from the catalogue. Implants are titanium, supplied sterile and individually packed.

1.4 mm for 3.3 mm screws, 1.6 mm for 4.0 mm screws and 2.0 mm for 6.5 mm screws.
What is the Compression PLUS screw?
