Overview
NeoSpan® SE is a superelastic compression staple for fixation of fractures, fusions and osteotomies of the bones of the forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot. The staple’s superelastic properties and inside/outside stepped-tooth design are intended to resist pull-out. It is supplied with a sterile, disposable instrumentation kit; the inserter spreads the legs of the staple and then releases them for compression loading.

Using the staple inserter
Compression loading: with the staple held in the inserter’s metal prongs, slowly twist the top handle clockwise, extending the internal plunger to spread the staple’s legs.
Release: slowly twist the top handle anticlockwise.
Indications
Fixation of fractures, fusions and osteotomies of the bones of the forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot.

Sizes and ordering
Staples are supplied sterile with a single-use inserter. Codes are from CONMED's CE-market catalogue (2025) and the NeoSpan SE surgical technique (Rev. C, 10/2019).
