XMCP – Metacarpal Phalangeal Fusion

The Extremity Medical XMCP is an intramedullary fusion device for arthrodesis of the metacarpophalangeal joints. A metacarpal implant is seated in the metacarpal and a lag screw is passed through it into the proximal phalanx, locking into the implant by a Morse taper, compressing across the joint and holding it at a fixed 25° angle, so no plate or hardware bending is required. The construct is fully contained within the bone and is removable.

Metacarpal implants come in Small (4.0 mm), Medium (5.0 mm), Large (6.0 mm) and Extra Large (7.0 mm) diameters, all 30 mm long. Lag screws are 4.0 mm, cannulated or solid, 20 to 36 mm long in 2 mm steps.
