The DuaFit® system consists of implants and instruments for arthrodesis of the interphalangeal joints of the lesser toes, including the correction of claw toe, hammer toe and mallet toe deformities.
The DuaFit® PIP implant is a one-piece intramedullary implant made of radiolucent PEEK. Barbed legs and distal blades hold the adjacent phalanges. The implants come in three angles and six sizes each, and are used with a sterile, single-use instrument set or a reusable set.
Features
- One-piece intramedullary implant in radiolucent PEEK.
- Barbed legs and distal blades to hold the adjacent phalanges.
- 0°, 10° and 17° implants, each in six sizes (1, 1L, 2, 2L, 3 and 4).
- 0° implants cannulated for optional temporary K-wire fixation to the metatarsal.
- Sterile implants in blisters, colour-coded by angle and size.
- Sterile, single-use instrument kit.
Indications
Arthrodesis of the interphalangeal joints of the lesser toes, including the correction of claw toe, hammer toe and mallet toe deformities.
Indications, contraindications, warnings and precautions are listed in the instructions for use.
Sizes and angles
- Three angles, 0° (straight), 10° and 17°, to suit the patient's anatomy and the interphalangeal angle.
- Six sizes in each angle: 1, 1L, 2, 2L, 3 and 4 (sizes 1 to 4 are 11, 14, 17 and 20 mm long).
- The 0° implants are cannulated, so the corrected toe can be pinned temporarily to the metatarsal with a K-wire.
- Each implant is delivered sterile, nested in a blister, with colour-coded angle and size.
Sizes and ordering
Implants are PEEK-OPTIMA® and supplied sterile. Codes are from CONMED's CE-market catalogue (2025); sizes 1 to 4 are 11, 14, 17 and 20 mm long (CONMED website), and 1L and 2L are long versions of sizes 1 and 2.

Product information
What is the implant made of?
PEEK-OPTIMA®, a radiolucent polymer, so the implant does not obscure the fusion site on X-ray.
Which angles are available?
0° (straight), 10° and 17°, each in six sizes (1, 1L, 2, 2L, 3 and 4).
Can the toe be pinned to the metatarsal?
Yes, with the 0° implant. It is cannulated, so a K-wire can be passed through it to pin the corrected phalanx temporarily to the metatarsal.
Is a surgical technique available?
Contact Lavender Medical for the surgical technique and instructions for use.
