Overview
JewelACL™ is a permanent polyester implant for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, supplied sterile as a 7 mm ID x 710 mm ligament. It is designed to match the tensile strength of the semitendinosus hamstring tendon, typically 1200 N (manufacturer data).
JewelACL can be used with or without a harvested tendon graft, in both Partial Graft Sparing (PGS) and Total Graft Sparing (TGS) techniques. Fixation is with a cortical suspensory device and soft-threaded interference screws, and the femoral tunnel is created by an anteromedial approach.
Features
- Continuous tubular form with side openings placed to accommodate a hamstring tendon.
- Open-weave structure into which native tissue integrates.
- Gas plasma surface treatment renders the surface hydrophilic.
- Secured to bone with cortical suspensory fixation with a loop, or with soft-threaded interference screws.
- Tensile strength matched to the semitendinosus tendon, typically 1200 N (manufacturer data).

How it works
Step 1. Fixation with a cortical suspensory fixation device and soft-threaded interference screws.
Step 2. Use an anteromedial approach to create the femoral tunnel.
Step 3. Can be used alone or with a harvested tendon graft.
